Kyland has released its latest IEC62439-3/HSR (High-availability Seamless Redundancy) technologies on SPS 2012 recently, which has been confirmed as the first realized HSR solution in the world. The realization of HSR technologies is an important milestone for the industrial market that the long awaited Zero Recovery Time and Zero Packet Loss has finally become a reality. During the SPS, the perfect zero packet loss performance of GPT series industrial Ethernet switches and its HSR modules presented by Kyland was an extraordinary attraction.

As the latest development of IEC62439-3, HSR has significant advantages compared with earlier realized PRP (Parallel Redundancy Protocol). These advantages include easier deployment, lower infrastructure investment, easier maintenance and better extensibility. These advantages will become even more obvious with the network scale growth.
